CLAUDIA BRUCE

FINANCIAL PLANNING INTERN

Claudia Bruce is a rising senior at Virginia Tech in the Certified Financial Planner® Education Program. After graduation, she hopes to sit for the CFP® exam in November 2023. Last summer she discovered her love and interest for financial planning while attending Client meetings as financial planning intern in Bel Air, Maryland. She is particularly interested in building client relationships.

At Virginia Tech, Claudia is the former recruitment director for Pi Sigma Epsilon, Marketing and Sales Fraternity. She led the recruitment process for the entire organization and attracted over 100 potential new members ultimately resulting in 25 new members of the organization. During her Junior year, Claudia was also an active participant in the Pamplin Leadership Academy. The cohort participated in monthly professional development seminars and worked alongside ArawakX to review startup business plans. ArawakX is a new crowdfunding exchange for small businesses in the Bahamas. At the end of the year, Claudia’s team presented their work to ArawakX executives; the top performers were offered an all-inclusive trip to the Bahamas to visit company headquarters. Luckily, Claudia was selected and will be making that trip this summer!

In her free time Claudia loves to travel, read, try new restaurants, and watch the latest Netflix docuseries. She decided to take traveling into her own hands and obtained her Private Pilot’s License in December 2020. Following the family tradition of aviation, Claudia hopes to take her hobby internationally one day.

Client Focus: Claudia approaches her work at Yeske Buie by viewing herself as a sponge. She aims to soak up as much knowledge as she can about the financial planning process, and hopes to have an impact on Clients by assisting the Financial Planning Team with whatever needs they may have.

Current Update: Originally from Darlington, Maryland, Claudia is loving the Northern Virginia Area. She is getting adjusted to being an Intern with Yeske Buie and working with both the East and West Coast Teams!
