Meet the Team: Maya Ayed
In this edition of Meet the Team, we introduce you to Maya Ayed, Business Management Intern in San Francisco. Maya is a current student at the University of San Francisco, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Management and Marketing. Maya is from Tunisia, a small country in North Africa, and she moved to San Francisco in 2018 to complete her bachelor’s degree.
A rising Junior, Maya already has a number of professional and leadership experiences under her belt including an internship with a media agency named Mindshare, and her work as an orientation leader at the University of San Francisco for the past two years.
She plans to use these experiences and those from her studies – including a marketing class where she had to build a marketing plan from scratch involving a growth strategy for Warner Bros. – to add value to Yeske Buie and its Clients during her time as a Business Management Intern. We hope you enjoy learning more about Maya!
What first interested you most about Yeske Buie?
What first piqued my interest in Yeske Buie was the values system. I really felt a strong connection there. After further exploring the website, I could tell that this company really cares for their Clients and their team members. I could tell from the various articles on the website that this company puts a lot of work into building their team, which to me is extremely important. Without a strong, connected team, you cannot serve the Clients to the best of your ability.
What has been your favorite project at Yeske Buie so far?
This is a hard one as I’ve really enjoyed every project that I’ve been working on, and all for different reasons! However, if I had to narrow it down, I would say my top two favorite projects have been a critical thinking project and a design project. For the critical thinking project, I have really enjoyed looking at data from Yeske Buie’s communication efforts and trying to figure out what we can learn from the data and what it is telling us that would be beneficial in our future efforts. For the design project, I have been working on designing the Yeske Buie Instagram page which I’ve really enjoyed because it feels like I am helping to build additional bridges between Yeske Buie and our Clients. Stay tuned for more information in our coming Digests!
What aspect of Yeske Buie and its Clients intrigues you the most and why?
What intrigues me most about Yeske Buie is the way the entire team genuinely cares for their Clients. There is a connection point with every Client and it truly feels that the team has love, from the heart, for each and every one of their Clients. There is so much thought put into every aspect of the work done here, as everything touches the Client in one way or another. I want to learn more about this and how to incorporate love and passion into your everyday work.
What Yeske Buie worldview aligns with you most and why?
The Yeske Buie worldview that aligns with me most would be Live Big. I feel Live Big incorporates all the other worldviews into one. This is a value that I try to live my life through, knowing that there are no limits to what you dream of and that there are no boundaries in what you can accomplish. I am a very active learner and strive to learn new things every day. When I look at my past accomplishments, this is what truly makes me happy and ensures me that I am living my biggest life!
What do you hope to accomplish during your time as a Yeske Buie Business Management Intern?
During my time at Yeske Buie I hope to continue to flex my learning muscles – learning how a firm works, what operations it takes to keep the business running, and more about business management (my major) in general. Additionally, I take a lot of pride in my work, and I hope that when I complete my internship, the work that I have produced will be used even after I am gone.
What is one of your Live Big goals?
This might sound typical, but my Live Big goal is to travel the world! I have already had the privilege of visit many countries in Europe including Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Switzerland, and more. I have also traveled to many states in the US and of course Africa. However I am missing all of Asia. When traveling, I love to be outside in nature – it is a place where I can meditate and reflect on life. There’s nothing better than traveling in nature!
