And the Heart of Financial Planning Award goes to…Dave Yeske!
Dave was recently awarded the Heart of Financial Planning Award by the Financial Planning Association® (FPA®) at their annual conference this past weekend in San Antonio, TX.
“The Heart of Financial Planning Award recognizes individuals who are advocates and innovators in the financial planning community,” said Lauren M. Schadle, CAE, FPA’s incoming executive director and CEO. “FPA is proud to honor our 2012 winners who embody the spirit of our professional and public service that contribute to the advancement of financial planning.”
In granting the award to Dave, FPA® cited a number of accomplishments in the area of financial planning education:
Yeske, a member of FPA of San Francisco is an experienced educator who has taught almost every course offered in the financial planning program at Golden Gate University (GGU), where he is a distinguished adjunct professor in its school of business. His knowledge and teaching spans a generation of planners who have used his instruction and mentoring to polish their technical expertise. He recognized early on the importance of hands-on learning and, with his partner, created GGU’s “Practicum in Financial Planning,” an opportunity for students to work with real clients creating functional financial plans. Yeske was also instrumental in transforming GGU’s capstone case course to include plan development and presentation. His classroom achievements are significant and yet Yeske remains an active volunteer with FPA locally and nationally and currently chairs FPA’s Academic Advisory Council. He served as the organization’s national president in 2003. Yeske is the managing director at Yeske Buie.
