Featured Favorites: Inspiration

Welcome to Featured Favorites, a special feature with a goal of highlighting the diversity of thought and interest on the Yeske Buie team and in the Yeske Buie community at large. In this edition, we want to talk about inspiration. Many agree that feeling inspired is one of the greatest feelings in life – it’s like an adrenaline rush in the body and the mind that can ignite your deepest passions.

But inspiration can be hard to find. As a team, we find daily inspiration from you, our clients and our community. We also turn to our support networks and other external influences, so that we can be our best selves in serving the Yeske Buie community. We asked our team…

When you need inspiration, what do you do? Who do you talk to?

Unsurprisingly, we found the answers to be, well, quite inspiring. Let us know what you think, and let us know what inspires you.

When I need inspiration, it normally comes from being outdoors. When I was living in Virginia, that normally looked like hiking new trails in my area. Now that I am living in San Francisco, I will walk to parts of the city I haven't explored yet! - Sydney
I get out in nature. The below photo popped up as a featured photo from my iPhone today - good memories! - Cristin
Whenever I need inspiration, I like to travel somewhere that provides a different environment than the one I currently am in. Since I live in the city, these days I like to go visit areas where I have access to nature to draw inspiration. I believe that being in a completely different environment gives you the space to approach the same situations, yet with a different perspective. Visiting different places also serves as a good reminder that the world is such a big place and helps expand our perspectives, as it's easy to get hyper focused in our own little ``worlds`` and environments. - Rachel
I go for a drive and listen to music in my car. My favorite place to drive is up and down the George Washington Memorial Parkway. - Yusuf
I love to be outside when I need inspiration. Walking and running clear my mind and make me feel energized and thankful for my body. My mind wanders in wonderful ways when I'm just putting one foot in front of the other and breathing in fresh air. - Lauren S
When I need inspiration, I go to the golf course. I will usually play alone when I am feeling a need to be inspired and ``soak it all in`` if you will. I concentrate on being present with myself, being grateful that I get to be outdoors and away from ``all the noise`` that comes with being in today's world, and just overall enjoy life for that particular day. Most often I am playing at Lansdowne Resort, which is the course in the picture below. - Cole
Church and prayers give me guidance and inspiration. I feel at peace in church especially now that my parents passed away. It was a big part of my values growing up. - Dorothy
