No B.S., No Baby Talk

There is a science of investing.

Unfortunately, much of what passes for investment advice has little connection to this science. Our policy when it comes to investing is simple: no B.S., no baby talk. When we make recommendations, it’s because we believe there’s a sound theoretical and practical foundation for success. At the end of the day, success in investing is more about discipline than it is about beating the system.

Our Approach

Our approach to assembling and managing portfolios is predicated on certain fundamental worldviews that give rise to our investment philosophy and the systematic process by which it is implemented.

Our Building Blocks

We are committed to an evidence-based approach in everything we do – we call this evidence-based financial planning®. We believe in developing strategies that are grounded in the best scientific evidence the academic world can supply, and then applying those strategies in a consistent and disciplined fashion. This is what led us to make Dimensional Fund Advisors (DFA) a significant part of our portfolio construction process, contributing, as it does, many important building blocks to nearly all of our Clients’ portfolios.

Our Commentary

We’re good people to think with… so what are we thinking? Read our latest thoughts on financial and economic developments.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that others won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

-Marianne Williamson
