July Tips and To Dos
This month’s tips and to-dos are inspired by the increased popularity of recognizing fun and wacky holidays. While July rings in a number of wacky holidays including Blueberry Day, Be a Dork Day, and Tell an Old Joke Day (seriously, who makes these things up?!), we’ve highlighted three holidays below that have relevant connections to financial planning.
Amazon Prime Day
Prime Day is an annual event featuring special savings deals. We don’t encourage superfluous spending, however. Rather, we think this day provides a timely reminder to review and cancel unused subscriptions.
National Parents Day
The parent-child relationship is no doubt a special one. Because of the complexity of the relationship, however, it can be difficult to have important money conversations with your parent(s). Here’s a few tips.
Live Webinar Recording Now Available
This past Wednesday our resident economists, Dr. Dave Yeske and Yusuf Abugideiri, hosted our third live webinar of the year where they covered the events of the last few months and the effects they’ve had on the markets and the economy. We hope you enjoy watching or re-watching the recording of this webinar, and as always, please feel free to share with anyone you think might find it interesting!
It’s been a long few years since we have been able to gather in person and we miss you! Thus, we hope you and your guests will join the Yeske Buie team as we host our first Virginia IN PERSON event since 2019! Mark your calendars and RSVP today for We’re Better Together, on July 28th, 2022, from 4pm – 8pm ET at the Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. We’ll have delicious hors d’oeuvres and refreshing libations in a gorgeous outdoor/indoor setting. We hope to see you there! And for our West Coast Clients, friends and family, mark your calendars for Thursday, August 18th when we will host you and all celebrate together!
Ask Us Anything: Enlightening Listeners
Many of our meetings with Clients begin with a simple question: tell us about yourself. From there, we listen. We consider it a genuine privilege to learn about your loved ones, your big life transitions, your goals, and your adventures, and it is our hope that you feel heard and understood anytime you engage with us. Today’s Ask Us Anything question touches on the importance of active listening and creating a safe space for Clients to share – we’re all ears.
