The Give Big Kentucky Derby Challenge
Give Big at Yeske Buie manifests in several ways: volunteer work, pro bono financial planning, charitable donations, and more. We thought it would be fun to engage in a friendly competition and Give Big to our community. This year’s Kentucky Derby will take place on Saturday, May 6. Before the big race, use this survey to guess which horse will take the crown at Churchill Downs. Guess correctly and we’ll make a $20 donation to charity on your behalf – good luck!
Word of the Week: Financial Independence
We talked about the importance of financial literacy skills earlier in this newsletter. As with any skill, practice and proficiency can have significant benefits. Some benefits of financial literacy include less financial stress, more control and confidence over your finances, and increased likelihood of setting and reaching goals. You may even find that you reach a feeling of financial independence, which everyone defines differently. Start defining financial independence for yourself here.
Tax Day is Tuesday
As we’re sure you’re well aware, the deadline to file your 2022 tax return is next Tuesday, April 18*. Tuesday is also the deadline to make first quarter estimated tax payments and serves as the last day to contribute to an IRA or HSA for the 2022 tax year. If there’s any way we can assist as the deadline nears, please don’t hesitate to contact us. And, as we do each year, we’ll be reaching out in late April to request a copy of your return for planning needs throughout the year – stay tuned!
