Dimensional Stories: Empirical Work

DFA founder David Booth likes to say, “it’s about ideas,” and we certainly don’t know of another fund company that has been more about ideas than Dimensional Fund Advisors. As Dimensional embarks on it’s 25th year of working with financial advisors ,they shared with us a series of Dimensional Stories, two minute videos on the themes and insights that influence Dimensional’s way of investing. We will be sharing these Dimensional Stories with you over the next few months as we feel they give insight into the thinking of an important strategic partner, one which adds enormously to our clients’ investment success. This past week, both Elissa and Dave were featured in various media outlets. Last Wednesday, Elissa made a live appearance on WRNW Women’s Radio Network and shared Yeske Buie’s Live Big philosophy with their host and their listeners – you can hear a replay of Elissa’s show here. Additionally, the Financial Planning Association announced that Dave will become Practitioner Editor of the award-winning Journal of Financial Planning effective June 1st. Dave was also quoted in a CNBC report regarding succession planning for small business owners following the results of a joint survey by the Financial Planning Association and CNBC. Now that tax day has come and gone (unless you are on extension), we will be requesting a copy of your 2014 Federal and State returns to help us better serve our Clients throughout the year. Exactly how the information is used varies from Client to Client, but we are best able to perform tax related analysis with your most current tax return.
