The Closing Ceremony for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games will take place this Sunday, celebrating the success, hard work, and commitment of the world athletes. For years, the United States teams have been dominant and are always near the top in terms of total gold medals and medals overall. In this way and many others, the U.S. is a world powerhouse. When it comes to personal savings, however, the U.S. pales in comparison to much of the world. We can do much better! Read on for our thoughts on ways you may enhance your personal savings “training plan” and go for gold with a budget.
Changes to Schwab’s MoneyLink® Notification Process
Staring in mid-March, Schwab will begin sending you notifications about all incoming and outgoing MoneyLink transactions for your Schwab accounts. This will be similar to the notifications that you already currently receive about checks, journals and wires associated with your Schwab accounts. Most likely you will receive these notices via email (if you have an email on file with Schwab), otherwise you will receive them via standard mail. If you have any questions about this change, please do not hesitate to contact us.
How You Will Receive Your 1099
As you begin collecting your tax documents to prepare your 2017 returns, we’d like to offer a few notes about tax information for your Yeske Buie accounts.
There will likely be corrections to these original 1099 forms, and the corrected forms are expected to be posted to your Schwab Alliance account beginning on February 27th. Schwab will email you if/when those forms are available. We suggest that you meet with your tax preparer as scheduled; do not delay your meeting as you wait to see if there will be corrected forms.
At Yeske Buie, our purpose is to empower people to pursue their Live Big® lives. And our greatest strength is our dedicated team of professionals, led by our two founders, who between them have over 70 years of combined experience practicing financial planning and leading the profession.
