Social Security Law Changes Trigger a Comprehensive Review
The Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015 that was signed into law on November 2, 2015 made some significant adjustments to the future of Social Security claiming strategies. In general, benefits were not changed. But some beneficial claiming strategies have been eliminated, effective April 30, 2016. We are in the process of completing a comprehensive review of all Clients who may be affected by the recent changes. The following action steps will be applied on an individual basis:
For some, you or your spouse may be required to take action prior to April 30, 2016. This is only potentially applicable if at least one spouse is Full Retirement Age (66 for most people) and one spouse is 62 or older. If this applies to you, we will contact you with the recommended action well in advance of this deadline.
For others, your optimal claiming strategy may have changed as a result of the new law but will not require action prior to the April 30, 2016 deadline. If this is the case, we will revisit your Social Security Benefits Analysis and review it with you at our next update meeting.
If you do not hear from us, know that we reviewed your benefits analysis and have determined that no changes need to be made at this time. In addition, if you and/or your spouse are currently receiving benefits, there is no action to be taken.
As always, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Investment Advisor: How Doing Good Can Help You Do Better
At Yeske Buie, we believe that sharing unconditionally is the path to abundance and we are committed to sharing our time, our intellect, and our resources. So, when Olivia Mellan and Sherry Christie of Investment Advisor Magazine reached out to Yeske Buie for our thoughts on year-round philanthropy, we were more than happy to share why and how we Give Big. In the article featured in the December 2015 issue of Investment Advisor, contributions from Elissa Buie and Cristin Etheredge were included to support, “How Doing Good Can Help You Do Better”. Today, we share a passage from the article where Elissa and Cristin highlight a few ways that Yeske Buie embodies the phrase Give Big.

‘Tis the Season: Yeske Buie Sponsors Cappella SF Holiday CD
In what seems like the blink of an eye, the holidays are upon us and ’tis the season for delicious meals, time with family and friends, and holiday tunes. Elissa and Dave have become involved with Cappella SF, an exceptional a cappella group founded and directed by Ragnar Bohlin, Emmy award winning director of the San Francisco Symphony Chorus. We recognize that by no means does everyone celebrate the Christmas Holiday. But with admiration for their talent, Yeske Buie has sponsored Cappella SF’s first CD, “Light of Gold: Cappella SF Christmas”, which features both traditional and exclusive Christmas music, and we would like to offer a copy of this CD to anyone interested. If you would like a copy, please email Lauren@YeBu.com and she will promptly ship a CD to your home. This link to a sample of Light of Gold will give you a taste of what this CD has in store for you.
At Yeske Buie, our purpose is to empower people to pursue their Live Big® lives. And our greatest strength is our dedicated team of professionals, led by our two founders, who between them have over 70 years of combined experience practicing financial planning and leading the profession.
