Building Financial Stability in the Bay Area

A panoramic view from above San Francisco's financial district on a bright sunny day.

Financial pressures in today’s ever-evolving economy can be significant, and, unfortunately, many people were never taught basic personal finance skills and feel lost when it comes to managing their money. With open hearts for those in this position, our San Francisco team participated in the Annual Bay Area Financial Planning Day event which Sydney Woodward played an integral role in executing. Connecting Students with Finance Role Models

Meanwhile, on the other side of the country, our team in Vienna, VA also volunteered their time and expertise with Junior Achievement of Greater Washington’s JA Finance Park. This event was an opportunity to guide small groups of middle-school students through a personal budgeting experience to help prepare them to take on their financial futures. ‘Tis the Season for Holiday Giving

Toy Drive Promotion

While we are intentional about Giving Big all year round, we find ourselves particularly inspired to give during the holiday season. Each year, the Yeske Buie team finds unique ways to donate toys and other goods to local charities. This post on our website highlights nearly a decade of annual giving initiatives, including how we chose to Give Big this year, via photos, quotes, and more. Happy holidays!

The Give Big Acts of Kindness Challenge

Last month, we introduced our Give Big Acts of Kindness Challenge focused on highlighting ways we can make a difference in the lives of those around us, and it’s been inspiring to read the special Give Big moments you’ve been engaging in. As we near end-of-year and reflect on all our blessings, we felt it timely to share the Give Big list one more time with some new additions from our team and community.

Year-End Financial Planning Deadlines

As we do each year, we’re in the process of doing full year-end tax planning reviews. This includes looking at expected end-of-year portfolio distributions from the mutual funds held in your accounts and the potential for harvesting losses or gains as is appropriate to your situation (if at all), and considering Roth Conversions if you are expected to be in a relatively low tax bracket. While the official deadline to take action on these planning items is Tuesday, December 31, we’ve already completed most analyses and reached out to Clients with required action with plans to complete any paperwork ASAP. If you have specific questions or new updates to share with us, please reach out. Otherwise, rest assured we’ve got you covered!
