Tim Connolly, CFP® holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Kenyon College. He has also completed the Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning Program at Golden Gate University and earned the CFP® certification in November 2024.

After completing his undergraduate studies, Tim held roles in tax consulting where he was responsible for working directly with business owners, executives, and other allied professionals to identify and quantify tax strategies related to company research and development. During COVID, Tim decided to utilize his education and professional knowledge directly with individuals, and he joined a fee-only financial planning firm where he worked with a range of different individuals and situations. Tim joined the Yeske Buie Team in 2024, and has particularly enjoyed being a thought partner to help Clients think through their financial lives and empower them to Live Big.

While Tim was studying at Kenyon College, he was a member of the Men’s Varsity Basketball team and is one of the 27 players in Kenyon basketball history to eclipse 1,000 points. He was also a member of the Kenyon Student Athlete Association and volunteered at Transition Mission, a program designed for special needs individuals.

In his free time, Tim enjoys playing basketball, competing with (and sometimes against) his wife in various athletic events, and exploring the city on foot with his wife and dog. When not playing sports, Tim can usually be found with his family and friends supporting his favorite local sports teams (go Niners and Warriors!) and spending time catching up at one of the many great places to eat around the city.

Client Focus: Tim’s favorite part of financial planning is the ability to work with so many talented and interesting people. He enjoys being able to think with his Clients and his teammates to help them use their financial resources reach their Live Big goals. Whether it’s diving into a spreadsheet, acting as a sounding board, or anything in between, Tim enjoys being able to partner with all our Clients to help them imagine and build their Live Big lives.

Current Update: Most recently, Tim has enjoyed deepening relationships with Clients as the year has gone on. The new tax law has been a mainstay in our collective Yeske Buie brain the last few months, and digesting the information (as well as everything else out of Washington) is an ongoing endeavor. Still, Tim has enjoyed the opportunity to work with our Clients to continue to keep their Live Big goals at the forefront. Tim has also enjoyed mentoring our interns and helping them get acquainted with and building their knowledge of the financial planning profession. Tim also recently joined the board of the Financial Planning Association of San Francisco where he is now putting his love of numbers to use as Treasurer.

On the personal front, after a big trip to Ireland, Tim has enjoyed settling back into his routine of getting to the gym and spending time with his wife and dog as well as his family and friends in the city. Nothing too out of the ordinary has occurred, but Tim notes he’s a creature of habit, so he quite enjoyed this! However, Leslie (Tim’s wife) did get to take a fun trip to London with her mom. He lived vicariously through her as London is high on the list of places Tim would love to go. Maybe another Live Big trip in the making?
