Kacie Fawls Climbs Career Ladder to Financial Planner

Kacie Fawls Climbs Career Ladder to Financial Planner

We are excited to share that Kacie Fawls has earned the title of Financial Planner at Yeske Buie. Climbing the career ladder to reach this point is no small feat. Kacie joined our team in 2020 as a Financial Planning Intern (which became a fully remote internship position due to the pandemic) and joined us full time as an Associate Financial Planner in 2021 after graduating from Virginia Tech’s CFP Certification Education track.

Since then, Kacie has passed the CFP Exam, obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER certification, and become a mom. In addition to these traditional milestones, the growth that we’ve seen in Kacie’s confidence, knowledge, resourcefulness, and authenticity has been exponential and we’re so grateful to have her on our team leading Client relationships.

As Kacie moves into this next phase of her career, we asked her to reflect on a few questions about her approach to her work and what she’s looking forward to in the future. Congratulations, Kacie, and thank you for being an ambassador of our core values, especially in the way that you serve Clients and bring your full self to your work and your team.

Yeske Buie: What are you most excited about in your new role, and how do you see it benefiting our Clients?

Kacie: I am most excited about the ownership of my work and advice that I give as a Financial Planner, and to move into the relationship side of the job after gaining a deep understanding of the support and logistics aspect of financial planning.

Yeske Buie: What’s one lesson you’ve learned from your time at the firm that will guide you in your new position?

Kacie: The biggest lesson I have learned since starting at Yeske Buie is to show up as yourself both for your team but especially for your Clients. Because money touches so many aspects of our lives, Clients come to us, often feeling vulnerable. To be authentic and vulnerable ourselves allows the Clients to develop trust in their financial planning team.

Yeske Buie: How do you envision your role evolving in the next few years, and how will that shape/impact the Client experiences?

Kacie: Logistically, I expect to transition from the pure support and implementation step in the planning process to leading Client meetings on my own. I hope to help enhance the Client experience overall, providing creative solutions to help provide a smooth transition for the client, no matter where they are in life. However, it is a process that doesn’t happen overnight. For me, it is about taking it one day at a time. There is still so much I have to learn and experience in order to be the best planner and person I aspire to be.
