The Season of Giving
Yeske Buie has a worldview to Give Big and everyone on our team embodies Give Big in their own unique capacity – volunteering with charitable organizations, giving back to the Financial Planning profession and more. Inspired by the season of giving, Elissa and Dave generously invited the team to select a handful of toys for donation. The Mills Building, where the San Francisco office is located, hosts an annual toy drive to benefit children in need through the San Francisco Firefighters Toy Program. Each member of the team selected one or two gifts to donate to the toy drive in the hope of bringing a little holiday happiness to local families in need.
The gifts the team selected included a toy cash register, baby dolls, super hero capes, board games, Legos, reading materials and more! Spoken as a true financial planner, Zach Bennedsen selected the toy cash register because “it’s never too early to start learning about personal finance!” Others selected toys with personal, sentimental meaning. Camille Bouvet chose baby dolls because she believes “playing with dolls has a way of bringing out the best character in children and there’s something timeless about the toy.” Beyond the toys themselves, the team agreed that it is the opportunity to give, especially around the holiday season, that brings them joy. Ryan Klemm shared, “The importance of giving during this time of year is to recognize that others may not be as fortunate as you. Having the chance to spread happiness through giving back to others is something that I feel grateful to participate in.” Mila Lavoie echoed Ryan’s sentiments expressing, “I wish I was able to give more over the holidays, but we all do what we can. I feel grateful to Yeske Buie for allowing me to Give Big, beyond what I could do on my own!”
