Sydney Woodward, CFP® holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Virginia Tech’s CFP® Certification Education Track. During her time at school, she was involved in the Financial Planning Association Student Chapter, where she was fortunate enough to attend conferences that allowed her to build relationships with others in the profession. She also worked with Virginia Tech’s Collegiate Women in Business where she organized networking opportunities for young women in her program. Sydney passed her CFP® Exam in March 2022 and earned the CFP® certification in August 2022.

During her last collegiate summer, Sydney interned at Clarendon Wealth Management in Arlington, Virginia. The summer was filled with professional and personal growth as she learned the basics of her profession – client meetings specifically sparked a renewed excitement for her career.

After graduating from Virginia Tech in 2020, Sydney moved to Illinois where she worked as a Financial Planning Associate at Ehlert Financial Group. The fee-based firm, which specializes in planning for families with special needs, gave her a new perspective on the profession, and solidified her passion for financial planning. While at the firm, she got to work with a diverse group of families and help them redefine the dreams and goals they had for their disabled loved ones.

Sydney served as the Director of Technology for the San Francisco Chapter of the Financial Planning Association and is currently serving as the Director of Pro Bono for the chapter.

In her free time, Sydney enjoys hiking, painting, and training her pitbull, Avery.

Client focus: Sydney believes that relationship building is the basis of a great financial planning experience. She is excited to meet Clients and assist them in maximizing their Live Big lives.

Current Update: Sydney has been taking advantage of the beautiful San Francisco weather recently with lots of walks with her pup, Avery. They have started a new Sunday tradition of walking to the Ferry Building to grab coffee and a pastry before heading back to the apartment in Hayes Valley (what better way to start your morning than a 5-mile walk?!). Sydney is also happy to share that she is ahead of her reading goal for 2024, having already read 45 books in the first half of the year (book recommendations are welcome!).

Our west coast office continues to grow, with us welcoming River Galland as our summer intern. Sydney is looking forward to working closely with River over the next 12 weeks as he supports our Clients and the team on a few projects.
