Jack Carter is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, with a concentration in Financial Planning and Wealth Management from Virginia Tech’s CFP Certification Education track. He is anticipated to graduate from this CFP Board Registered Program in May of 2027.
Jack began his career in financial planning with Yeske Buie as an intern in May of 2025. He is excited to learn the ins and outs of the financial planning process and looks forward to the opportunity to gain insight and experience in a financial planning firm.
In his free time, Jack enjoys golfing, fishing, and many other outdoor activities. Jack is the treasurer of the Virginia Tech Fly Fishing club and a member of several other on campus organizations. The perfect day for Jack is spent outside with his family and ends with an evening walk to the local ice cream spot.
Client Focus: Jack believes being a good listener is key when building lasting relationships. Jack is intrigued by the opportunity financial planners have to provide clarity and relieve financial stress for Clients and looks forward to helping the team accomplish these goals in any way.
Current Update: Jack has settled into a good rhythm at Virginia Tech and is excited to continue contributing to the team as he balances both school and part-time work at Yeske Buie. He loves trying to apply the concepts he learns in class to the work he does at the firm. Recently, two members of the team, Yusuf Abugideiri and Will Tracy, came down to speak at a Virginia Tech Financial Planning Association (FPA) meeting. Jack was glad to have the opportunity to catch up with Yusuf and Will in person.
Outside of these activities, Jack has been enjoying the beautiful fall weather in Blacksburg and cheering on the Hokies in Lane Stadium. He is hoping the football team can gain some momentum and finish the season strong! He also recently attended a barbecue with the Fly-Fishing Club – their first! – to kick off the year and welcome new members.
