Jack Carter is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, with a concentration in Financial Planning and Wealth Management from Virginia Tech’s CFP Certification Education track. He is anticipated to graduate from this CFP Board Registered Program in May of 2027.

Jack began his career in financial planning with YeskeBuie as an intern in May of 2025. He is excited to learn the ins and outs of the financial planning process and looks forward to the opportunity to gain insight and experience in a financial planning firm.

In his free time, Jack enjoys golfing, fishing, and many other outdoor activities. Jack is the treasurer of the Virginia Tech Fly Fishing club and a member of several other on campus organizations. The perfect day for Jack is spent outside with his family and ends with an evening walk to the local ice cream spot.

Client Focus: Jack believes being a good listener is key when building lasting relationships. Jack is intrigued by the opportunity financial planners have to provide clarity and relieve financial stress for Clients and looks forward to helping the team accomplish these goals in any way.

Current Update: The start of the spring semester is quickly approaching for Jack. He is looking forward to classes starting up again and seeing his friends at weekly FPA meetings. This semester, Jack has a full slate of financial planning related courses and is excited to dive in. Professionally, Jack has been helping prepare Safe-Spending Policies for Clients and has loved the opportunity to learn more about and gain experience in this important aspect of financial planning.

Over winter break, Jack enjoyed a number of fun activities with his friends and family. Some highlights include: a ski trip to Timberline Resort in West Virginia, traveling to see his grandparents in Pennsylvania, and just recently, a hiking/camping trip with his hometown friends. Jack is looking forward to heading back to Blacksburg and is hoping to get a few more days of skiing in before the season ends.
