Will Tracy holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Virginia Tech’s CFP® Certification Education track, a CFP Board Registered Program. He graduated Cum Laude in May 2023 and is a strong advocate of the program. During his time at Virginia Tech, Will was an active member of the Financial Planning Association’s Student Chapter, the Chess Club, and Sigma Nu.
Throughout his undergrad, Will worked at two separate internships at financial planning firms, furthering his learning of the profession. The summer leading into his senior year during his internship in Northern Virginia, Will had the opportunity to help in the creation of several financial plans. In doing this, he learned important principles and nuances that go into the financial planning process. During his winter internship in New Jersey, Will had the chance to work for a newly established company. With this experience, he was able to witness first-hand, and participate in, the hard work it takes to start a firm. Doing this not only gave Will a unique experience, but taught him an early lesson in the benefits of dedication and purpose.
From his education from Virginia Tech’s program and his internship experiences, Will became fully focused on fee-only financial planning. The ability to make quality, trusting, and lasting relationships while performing meaningful work is what led to his passion for financial planning.
In his free time, Will enjoys playing golf and basketball. He started rooting for the Boston Celtics simply because his dad did and now, they hold a major place in his heart. He also enjoys taking trips with his family and friends and had a great time at Lake Placid in winter 2022.
Client Focus: Will believes that clear communication is fundamental for a great relationship. As a Client Support Specialist, he is excited for the opportunity to work with an amazing team and help Clients achieve their Live Big goals.
Current Update:
Will’s last two months have been busy! After months of studying, he passed the CFP® exam on July 15th and is looking forward to when he can officially use his marks. Shortly after the exam, Will traveled to San Francisco with the rest of the team for the annual Yeske Buie retreat. He had a great time connecting with everyone in person again and strengthening his bond with every team member. This was also his first time in San Francisco, and he loved having the chance to explore the city with some locals (and enjoy the weather!).
More recently, Will went on his first Live Big® trip to Jaco, Costa Rica with eight of his high school friends, six of which he has known since kindergarten! Their adventures included a tour of the Manual Antonio National Park and riding ATVs around rainforest trails.
Finally, Will is very excited for the start of the NFL season. Even though it looks like his New York Giants will have (another) tough year, Will finds solace writing the weekly recap reports for the Yeske Buie fantasy football league as he enters year two as the commissioner.
