Sydney Woodward, CFP® holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Virginia Tech’s CFP® Certification Education Track. During her time at school, she was involved in the Financial Planning Association Student Chapter, where she was fortunate enough to attend conferences that allowed her to build relationships with others in the profession. She also worked with Virginia Tech’s Collegiate Women in Business where she organized networking opportunities for young women in her program. Sydney passed her CFP® Exam in March 2022 and earned the CFP® certification in August 2022.
During her last collegiate summer, Sydney interned at Clarendon Wealth Management in Arlington, Virginia. The summer was filled with professional and personal growth as she learned the basics of her profession – client meetings specifically sparked a renewed excitement for her career.
After graduating from Virginia Tech in 2020, Sydney moved to Illinois where she worked as a Financial Planning Associate at Ehlert Financial Group. The fee-based firm, which specializes in planning for families with special needs, gave her a new perspective on the profession, and solidified her passion for financial planning. While at the firm, she got to work with a diverse group of families and help them redefine the dreams and goals they had for their disabled loved ones.
Sydney served as the Director of Technology for the San Francisco Chapter of the Financial Planning Association and is currently serving as the Director of Pro Bono for the chapter.
In her free time, Sydney enjoys hiking, painting, and training her pitbull, Avery.
Client focus: Sydney believes that relationship building is the basis of a great financial planning experience. She is excited to meet Clients and assist them in maximizing their Live Big lives.
Current Update: How is summer already coming to an end? It seems like the last few months have flown by. This summer Sydney spent her time attending financial planning conferences, our annual staff retreat, supporting our summer intern, and (of course) continuing to build strong relationships with our Clients. On a personal note, Sydney had a very important visited in San Francisco this August, her mom! Their favorite moment of the trip was going to see Wicked at the Orpheum Theater in San Francisco.
Looking forward, Sydney is excited to be going on a 9 day trip to the Pacific Northwest with a group of friends from college. The trip will be spent visiting Mount Rainer and Olympic National Park, making her one step closer to her Live Big goal of visiting all US National Parks. Additionally, as Director of Pro Bono for the San Francisco chapter of the Financial Planning Association, Sydney is spending a lot of her free time finalizing the plans for their Annual Financial Planning Day. This event brings out hundreds of Bay Area residents who are in need of financial planning advice and financial coaching.
