Ryan Kelly, CFP® earned a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin in 2017 and an M.S. in Financial Planning from the University of Georgia (UGA) in 2019. Prior to joining YeskeBuie, Ryan began his career as a Financial Planning Intern for Signature FD, a fee-only financial planning firm in Atlanta, Georgia. Although he was often handed the typical tasks of an intern (making copies, filing documents, and building reports), it was that exposure to Clients’ stories that kindled Ryan’s passion for financial planning. Already enjoying the technical work of planning, Ryan found purpose in the intricacies of Clients’ situations and the variety of work that was presented each day in the office.

Upon graduating from the University of Georgia, Ryan joined the YeskeBuie team as a Financial Planning Resident in our San Francisco office in June 2019. Ryan passed the third part of the Special Enrollment Examination eight months later, in February 2020, and became an Enrolled Agent in April 2020. He passed the CFP® Exam in July 2021, earned the CFP® Certification in September 2021, and was promoted to the role of Financial Planner in February 2022.

With the goal of moving closer to his family on the East Coast, and with full support of the firm, Ryan relocated to our office in Vienna, Virginia, in August 2023. Outside of the office, Ryan enjoys recreational soccer and tennis and is an avid fan of Atlanta United, his hometown MLS team. Ryan has also had several opportunities to travel the world and always welcomes opportunities to venture outside of his comfort zone, whether that is within the city or around the globe.

Client Focus: Ryan is excited to meet YOU! He has developed a passion for financial planning through actively listening to Clients’ unique personal financial story, and he is excited to learn about your family, your passions, and your Live Big goals.

Current Update: Happy New Year! Ryan is excited for what 2026 may bring – the opportunity to deepen relationships and plan new adventures, and the challenge to pursue personal growth and set new goals.

During the holidays, Ryan spent a lot of time traveling: five days in San Francisco in December, five days in Pennsylvania with his girlfriend Meredith and her family for Christmas, and three days in Key West with his family around the New Year. Though there were many highlights, one that stands out was experiencing Christmas Day with Meredith’s three “niblings,” ages 6 and 4, as they excitedly played with their new lightsabers, LEGOs, and dress-up sets.

Now, after a busy holiday season, Ryan has hit the ground running in 2026. January at YeskeBuie means it’s Safe-Spending season, during which we update the spending targets for all our retired Clients and rebalance and raise cash in their accounts. And outside the office, Ryan has completed his volunteer certification with the IRS and is preparing to spend Saturdays and Mondays between February and April preparing tax returns for community members in Fairfax County as part of AARP Foundation Tax-Aide.
